This charter reflects MEL’s commitment to fully integrating sustainable development principles into its practices.
We are dedicated to conducting our operations in an increasingly eco‑responsible manner, seeking a balance between social equity, environmental preservation, and economic progress.
Sustainable development is at the heart of our strategy, serving as a driver of innovation, differentiation, and competitiveness.
With this in mind, MEL commits to:
- Maintaining active CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) governance, enabling continuous progress in actions aimed at improving our daily impact.
- Ensuring that the CSR committee regularly consults employees and allows them to freely propose new project ideas.
- Integrating and maintaining CSR within our strategic priorities at every strategic plan review.
- Continuously improving our social and environmental impact.
Our organizational approach
Following our participation in the AIEQ (Association de l’Industrie Électrique du Québec) ESG Accelerator cohort, we established a CSR committee composed of seven members, including one dedicated lead.
Based on the assessment and roadmap developed during this program, the committee works to implement management practices that are more closely aligned with environmental and social priorities.
The committee relies on:
- Project leaders, jointly appointed by the committee and the individuals involved.
- CSR champions, identified through consultations with employees.
Finally, the CSR committee maintains ongoing communication with senior management to ensure alignment between the strategic plan and the social and environmental priorities considered relevant for MEL.
Our strategic priorities
Governance: Ensure ethical and responsible practices, and encourage their adoption by our partners (clients, suppliers, etc.).
Social: Place people’s well‑being, health, development, and diversity at the heart of our decisions.
Environment: Act as a model in reducing our impacts and positively influencing our business ecosystem.
